BCD Group has completed multiple projects for APL over the last few years, providing structural and civil engineering, and planning services. The 5,000m2 APL Factory is the most recent and prominent addition APL and is visible from Hamilton’s busy Wairere Drive. On a small site, the design sought to maximise the building’s footprint and to raise the profile of the APL brand and to create a physical transparency to their business. Challenges in the design were incorporating sustainable and architectural features to what seemed to be a standard warehouse and mezzanine office design.
