Waitomo Sky Garden
MONDAY 9 JULY 2018
Set to be the first attraction of its kind in the world, BCD Group are super excited to be a part of the Waitomo Sky Garden project, providing planning and full engineering services.
The 55m high bungy jumping platform will be New Zealand’s highest water-touch bungy and will also feature both a café and the highest dry slide in history. Underneath there is another cafe planned, a reinstated wetland themed garden with boardwalk, hot springs and another viewing platform on the roof of a two-storey building.
Hamilton entrepreneur, John Heskett, came up with the initial bungy jump concept two years ago and since then the idea has transformed to become the Waitomo Sky Garden. John is now seeking investors for his project which is expected to cost up to $20 million.
BCD Group, along with Form Building and Developments and Ignite Architects, have come onboard to help bring the vision of the project to life. The project is currently in the resource consenting phase.
