Situated in an ideal location at the intersection of SH29 and SH36 in Tauriko, the Tauranga Crossing retail centre will service not only the Bay Of Plenty region but also those who pass through.
The full range shopping destination is currently under construction with the structural steel skeleton of the centre coming together. But by April next year, Stage 2 of Tauranga Crossing will be transformed into two storeys of shopping and dining options and a six-screen cinema complex.
BCD Group are proud to be involved in this large-scale development, providing structural design services to the 30,000m2 (gross floor area) cinema and retail space extension of the existing shopping centre. The shopping centre development required lean design solutions and innovative thinking to ensure the client had a cost effective and functional building.
The total investment for Stage 2 is over $150 million, making it the largest building project in the Bay of Plenty. A further 12,000m2 is also planned to be developed for Stage 3 in the next few years.
